IMSU gets Vice Chancellor

The Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has appointed Professor Peter Achunike Akah, a lecturer of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), as the new acting Vice Chancellor of Imo State University.
This is coming on the heels of the retirement of former Vice Chancellor, Professor Victoria Adaobi Obasi.
Prof. Akah, who hails from Okporo, Orlu, was born on November 3, 1957.  He bagged his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1980, MSc in 1982, and PhD in 1984 in Pharmacology.
Professor Akah, has been the Head of Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology of UNN and former Associate Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies and Dean Student Affairs of UNN.
He has published more than 200 papers,  five books and twenty-one book chapters in his subject area, and has presented more than 50 papers in many national and international conferences.
He is currently the Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Medicinal Plants Research (JMPR), African Journal of Pharmaceutical Research and Development (AJOPRED) and Continental Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (CJPS).
